Baba Hara Peer History:

Long ago, Peer Baba came to this village to worship God. At that time, the village was known as "Kotli." The villagers were suffering greatly, so Peer Baba instructed them to bathe in the nearby river. After doing so, their physical ailments were healed, and Baba announced that their sins were forgiven. From that day, the village was renamed "Kotli Mafi."

According to locals, it is believed that Peer Budhan Ali Shah came to Jammu and Kashmir from an Arab country in the 14th century. He was accompanied by some of his brothers, who were also devout worshippers. People believe that Baba Hara Peer was one of his brothers. While Baba Hara Peer stayed in the village, he continued to alleviate the villagers' suffering. One day, Baba left the village. In his memory, the people of Kotli Mafi built a shrine and began to worship him. There is no mention of Peer Baba in history books, but he is remembered for relieving the villagers' physical suffering and revitalizing them, which is why people know him as Hara Peer Ji.
